Caitlin Conner, Founder, Therapist
I grew up right here in Central Arkansas, where my parents taught me the value of hard work. From a very young age, I knew I wanted to help people, always the first to lend a hand and a warm embrace. Naturally that led me into counseling. After graduating with a Masters in Science from the University of Arkansas in 2012, I began work counseling those with substance use disorders. Recognizing that wounds go much deeper, I knew it was important to address underlying causes that often go hand-in-hand.
I founded Inner Harmony Counseling and Wellness in Russellville Arkansas with that in mind and an aim to help those with eating disorders, addictions, trauma, and other life challenges regain their sense of self. With assistance from other therapists and professionals in the field, I’ve focused on delivering holistic care based on the individual. My clients’ personal, individual needs determine how I work with them. Every person is different, and so is each session.
I enjoy working with all types of people – children, parents, the elderly, working professionals, athletes, first responders such as military, firefighters, police officers, and Emergency Medical Technicians (EMT), and even other mental health professionals. I’ve seen all ages and situations.
My goal is to ensure that our practice has a homey, non-clinical atmosphere where you can relax enough to collaborate on your issues. We educate you about your situation, and give you tools you can apply in your personal life.

Meet the Team
Goose, Therapy Dog
Meet Goose. Born April 12, 2025, he's still learning and growing; but finally old enough to test and will join the team in summer 2026. Working a couple days a week, he is the welcoming smile you'll see when you walk through our doors. He enjoys snuggles, playtime, and cheese! But, if the weather is favorable for duck hunting, there's nothing he'd rather do.
Not a dog person? Not to worry--we are happy to schedule you when he is not in the office. Or, he enjoys long naps in his bed, too!
Benefits of a Therapy Dog:
-
Stress Reduction: Petting a dog immediately lowers physiological symptoms of stress, such as heart rate and blood pressure, helping you feel grounded and safe.
-
Building Rapport: A dog acts as a social buffer, helping individuals hesitant to the therapy environment gain comfort quicker.
-
Safe Emotional Processing: For clients (especially children and trauma survivors) who struggle to discuss painful memories, the dog provides an unconditional, non-judgmental anchor.
-
Easier Communication: Clients often find it easier to project their feelings onto the dog or share their experiences through their interactions with the animal, lowering the pressure of direct questioning.
-
Emotional Regulation: The physical presence of the dog can soothe distress in the moment, providing a healthy coping mechanism during challenging therapy sessions.

Eating Disorders
Eating Disorders such an Anorexia, Bulimia, Binge Eating, Body Dysmorphia, and others require specialized care and understanding. Struggling with food, body image, and eating patterns can feel overwhelming and isolating--but you don't have to navigate them alone. Let our specialized training help you heal your relationship with food, your body and yourself.
Substance Use Assessments
If you're unsure whether your substance use has become a concern, or is required by a legal proceeding, an assessment can provide clarity and direction. We use evidence-based screening tools alongside a personalized approach to ensure you feel comfortable and heard.
Addictions--Substance Use Disorders (SUDs)
SUDs come with a wide array of issues including societal stigma, misunderstandings, trauma, and pressure for perfection. Together we will work to identify negative/unhelpful thoughts fueling addiction, challenge distorted thoughts, and develop coping strategies, and practices for relapse prevention. Research shows CBT highly effective when combined with medication or other therapies
EMDR: COMING SOON!
EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is an evidence-based treatment for trauma, anxiety, and PTSD. EMDR helps the brain process painful memories without overwhelming emotions.
Trauma
We understand and take seriously the notion of trauma-informed and trauma-trained care to help clients recover from distressing experiences such as abuse, loss, accidents, or critical incidents. Our approach fosters safety, trust, and emotional regulation at your pace.
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
CBT helps clients recognize and shift unhelpful thought patterns and behaviors. This structured, goal-oriented therapy is effective for addictions, anxiety, depression, and stress.
Online Therapy (Telehealth)
Convenient, confidential, and flexible — ideal for busy professionals, parents, or those outside the Russellville area. We use secure, HIPAA-compliant video platforms.
Journal Therapy
Our Journal Therapy group is a powerful, evidence-based approach that helps to explore emotions, process experiences, and develop lasting self-awareness—using the simple yet transformative act of writing. Unlike surface-level journaling, Journal Therapy offers a structured, therapeutic space for working through anxiety, trauma, identity shifts, burnout, grief, and more.
Family Education
Healing doesn't happen in isolation. When appropriate, involving family members or loved ones can strengthen understanding, improve communication, and create a more supportive environment for lasting change. Family education focuses on helping the support system understand the individual's mental health struggles and learn to respond in a supportive, helpful way.
We're Here When You're Ready
We are dedicated to providing the support you need. Whether you are exploring mental health counseling or seeking specialized addiction or eating disorder treatment, our team is ready to guide you.
